Search engine optimization for chiropractors is essential in getting more traffic and exposure from the internet. It’s easy to forget about it since the world appears to be preoccupied with social media right now. The truth is, the number one listing for any keyword or phrase on Google gets an overwhelmingly majority of the clicks. If you’re not number one, you’re not in the game.
So how do you get to the top spot on Google for any keyword you want?
The answer is quite simple. You must make sure your website is optimized. We call than “on-page” search engine optimization (SEO). Next, and MOST importantly, you must start to build external anchor text links back your blog or chiropractic website while incorporating social factors. This is referred to as “off-page” SEO
On-page SEO factors include things like your meta title, meta description, and meta tags of your website. The key here is to find a competent programmer / webmaster that can take care of this for you. You’re a chiropractor and should not be focused on this. You need to find an expert.
Once those things are optimized and contain those words you want to rank higher for on Google, you can now proceed to off-page SEO. Again, this is by far the most important aspect in determining how your chiropractic website ranks in the search engines.
To fully maximize your off-page SEO, you must build links going to your website from blogs, forums, articles, videos, press releases and other web properties. Google likes to see that you have a variety of links pointing to your website from different places.
More specifically, you need anchor text back-links with the keywords as clickable text linking to your site.
Next, it’s important to make sure you’re sharing your website and new content on Facebook, Google +, Twitter, etc. Why? Well, the more you share your stuff AND if others re-tweet or share your content or site, the higher you’ll rank on Google, too.
This is no longer theory. It’s been proven. Social affects SEO!
Also, you need to make sure that when you do get Facebook shares or re-tweets, they’re from authority brands / people on the web. Google does favor this and looks at the influence of each person. This is very new and chiropractors don’t have a clue about this.
The web is changing fast and if you’re not keeping-up, prepare to be left out while your Google listing sinks faster than a ton of bricks.
